Twenty eight people from Chorwe village in the area of traditional authority Chawanda in Ntchisi were on 7th October 2023 baptized following a two week crusade.

The effort was conducted by Dorcus and Adventist Men departments from Mchesi SDA church and evangelist Khalani Makunje was the main speaker.

"Christian journey is not as simple as it may be perceived because satan is always angry when people choose Christ as you have done. Do not fear nor get discouraged but always engage in prayer and trust God who is our refuge." Khalani Makunje advised the new converts.

Pastor Mathias Moyo of Malomo district conducted the baptism of the twenty eight souls. Following this development, the district pastor for Ntchisi, pastor Andrew Chinyama declared the place as a new branch to be congregating at Chorwe primary school.

Pastor Chinyama then thanked Mchesi SDA church for organizing the effort which he described as one of the best in the district. He further urged Mchesi church to consider building a church in the area.

Senior Group Village Headman Chorwe commended the church for conducting the crusade in his area, saying that such meetings help to shape people's behaviour.

"I attended the crusade on daily basis and was privileged to witness true baptism." The group village headman said.

Elder Collins Chimpango who is the Mchesi Advetist Men chairperson said that there is still more work to be done in the area and emphasized the need to nurture the new converts so that they grow.
