Malawi Union Conference Registers 110 Delegates For SID Pathfinder Camporee
Eighty two (82) delegates of the registered 110 from the Malawi Union Conference (MUC) of the Seventh - day Adventist Church have this morning left for Pretoria, South Africa to attend the 3rd Southern African Indian Ocean (SID) Pathfinder Camporee, slated for 14th - 20th April at Mopane Lodge.
According to Chairperson of the Camporee Logistics Committee, Master Guide Rollings Moyo, 28 delegates will travel to South Africa by air of which a team of 8 Pathfinders is already in RSA. The others will fly to the Camporee on Sunday.
"Delegates had to choose either to travel by air or road. As such 62 delegates are leaving today by bus while 28 will travel by air on different days. Among those travelling by air 25 are from the Central and 3 from the South" said Moyo.
MUC Adventist Youth Ministries Chairman, Master Guide Saidi Jawado revealed that of the registered 110 delegates 65 are from the South Malawi Conference, 41 from Central Malawi Conference and 4 from the North Malawi Conference.
MUC Youth Director Pastor Dr. Elphis Luwani has thanked parents, Pathfinder Directors, Youth Leaders, District Pastors, Conference Directors and all those who were involved in the registration process.
This is the first time that Malawi has a huge representation in an international event.
Pathfinder Camporee is an annual event of the Pathfinder club which brings together the junior youth for a camping experience.
