Malawi Global Missionary Pioneers Get Bicycles

The Central Malawi Conference (CMC) of SDA Church on Thursday, 17th February distributed 17 bicycles to it's global Mission pioneers at a function that was held at CMC offices in Lilongwe.

The bicycles have been donated by Bicycle Missionaries to the World (BMW).

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Central Malawi Conference President, Pastor Petro Sukali said he is optimistic that the bicycles will ease mobility challenges for the global Missionary Pioneers thereby spearheading evangelism efforts in the hard to reach areas of CMC.

"We thank God and the donors for this timely donation which will help advance the work of Global pioneers in CMC. These people are deployed in un-entered areas where the Adventist messages have never been heard, and they make sure that people know about Jesus. The bicycles are worth K1.4million," he said.

Demio Kaziputa, a Bible worker from Namitete in Lilongwe hailed the leadership of CMC for championing the donation, saying it shows that it puts the welfare of the ministry at heart. He said, "this is going to help us save money spent on transport and will go a long way to ease our transport challenges,".

Pastor Medson Mazengera, who is based in the USA, is the one who approached BMW for the donation and said he was concerned with the plight of fellow missionaries back home and expressed gratitude that BMW had responded positively.

"I glorify God for making this donation possible. I am grateful to BMW for the timely donation, Malawi Union leadership and Conference Presidents for the cooperation towards the project," he added.

Bicycle Mission to the World (BMW) donated USD6,488 (MK5,0307,184) to Malawi Union for the project which was shared among the three Conferences with Central and South Malawi Conferences getting K1,486,011.52 each and North Malawi Conference getting K2,335,106.96.

BMW was founded by Pastor Kyung-Soo Jun who upon receiving God's call, left his position in the North American Division and founded the self supporting organisation, specifically to support pastors in Africa. He believed a simple bicycle can help spread the gospel in Africa.
