Central Malawi Conference to Hold a Maiden Masterguide Convention

The Central Malawi Conference Youth Department will hold a three day Masterguide convention from Friday 12th May to Sunday 15th May,2017 at the newly built Nalikule College of Education, which is about 12 Kilometres from Salima turn off.

The Convention, which is the first in the history of the Central Malawi Conference is expected to draw Masterguides from all districts in the central region, and some youths from the Southern and Northern regions.

According to the Chairperson of the Central Malawi Conference Youth Department, Khalani Makunje all preparations for the convention have been finalised. He said the Convention will provide an opportunity to Masterguides to interact, learn and even make suggestions on issues affecting them as Master Guides. ' A Convention in this scenario shall be a large assembly or gathering of Master Guides where other agreements and recommendations shall be made in regard to what is expected from Master guides', he said.

Makunje announced to the Masterguide forum that it had been confirmed that the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division Youth Director Pastor Busi Khumalo and other delegates from the General Conference will speak to the Masterguides on sunday. He also announced that the convention has also attracted delegates from the Southern and Northern Malawi Fields who will be coming with their Field Youth directors. 'All is set. As the days are coming close, the upcoming event is getting bigger and better. The organising committee has done exceedingly well and i can assure you that everything is progressing well. Among other things we have an excellent team of facilitators, food is first class, the place is just magnificent and the program is just great', said Makunje.

During the convention the Masterguides are expected to be drilled in entrepreneurship, evangelism and other areas. They will also be given updates from the SID Youth Office.

President of the Central Malawi Conference, Pastor A.G. John Phiri is scheduled to open the convention on Friday evening. About two hundred Masterguides are expected to attend the convention.
