SID APPLAUDS MALAWI FOR A SUCCESSFUL HEALTH CONVENTION.

The Southern Africa-Indian Ocean division Health Ministries Director,Dr.Alexis Llaguno has described the Malawi Union Health Convention which took place at Bingu International Convention Centre from to 20th as tremendously successful.Dr.Llaguno said this during the closure of the Convention on Saturday,20th August,2023. “The convention has surpassed a lot of expectations.The venue, the speakers and the presentations were of highest standard.The convention has demonstrated the Malawi church’s enthusiasm on health matters”. He said.

Dr.Llaguno said that health is an integral part of the ministry of the church and since medicine is not statistic,health professionals need to meet regularly to discuss emerging issues and update each other on research findings.He said that it is important that every church should be involved in health issues and every member should become a missionary worker. In his remarks,the President of Malawi Union Conference Pastor Tony Nyirenda said he was exited with the success of the convention which had received an overwhelming response and hoped the health convention will will be an annual event. He further appealed to Adventist doctors to form an association that would be able to address health issues in the church,conduct researches and provide counsel to government. Three hundred delegates attended the Health Convention which had both local and international presenters.
