SENIOR YOUTH CAMP AND CHILAMBULA VILLAGE UNITED THROUGH SPORTS

2024 Central Malawi Conference Senior youth camp camperers on Friday, 22nd August, 2024 organized a sports day with the community of Chilambula village which is a surrounding community of Ngodzi camp site. The sports activities ended with the CMC netball team winning 9-4 and a consolation 0-0 draw for football.

Master guide Pastor Joshua Ben Zilinde who is the Director of Adventist Youth Ministries in the Central Malawi conference said it is important for the campers to associate with the community as this leads to a good relationship with the community which will make evangelism to the community easier.

Pastor Zilinde congratulated all who took part in the sporting activities like the netballers, footballers and all supporters for the effort rendered.

Obed Ndahayo, the 2024 Senior youth camp Ambassador and the sports director thanked all his team mates for sacrificing their time and effort which led to the good results.

Village headman Chilambula commended the campers for coming out to participate in the sporting activities, a true reflection of unity with the villagers.

Hadija Adam who plays for Chilambula netball team said it is a good experience playing with talented players from the campsite. She said it was fun to play with the visitors in the community and she greatly valued the experience.

Henry Moyo who was a football goal keeper from Mchesi SDA Church and Vanessa Jaffali who was a netball shooter in from Biwi SDA Church were on their pick of the game.

The senior youth camp which runs from 18th - 24th August, 2024 is themed "Discovering my Identity in Christ" with the objective of discovering spiritual, mental and physical identities in youths.
