Lilongwe North West District Graduates 58 Lay Preachers

58 Lay Preachers have graduated following a week long Seminar which was held at Area 25 SDA Church.

The graduation ceremony was held on Sabbath 21 August 2021 at Dzenza SDA Church.

The candidates came from all parts of the Lilongwe North West District including places such as Area 25A, Dzenza, Matanda, Area 50, Mgona and Area 25 Sector 7.

In his remarks Pastor Dr Earnest Khonje gave a review of some of the lessons he taught during the week.

Among other things he gave the candidates some final tips on preaching to a congregation, one of which was not to delay in giving the message no matter the number of the people gathered to listen.

In recognition to a job well done the candidates were given a Certificate of Competence from Central Malawi Conference, a book of sermons and a Lay Preacher Seminar syllabus.

In his charge to the newly graduated evangelists, Pastor Aulex Msulira made it a point that getting the facts straight and clear is crucial when preaching God's Word.

In his closing remarks, second elder from Dzenza, Elder Henry Kamowa, thanked the congregation for their attendance and offered an open invitation to the lay preachers to visit and share a message some time.

The Lay Preachers Association of the Central Malawi Conference trains and certifies members of the laity within the conference to assist church pastors with member visitation, VOP Bible study follow-ups, event coordination, public speaking among other things.
