FAMILY LIFE FOR SALVATION, SAYS PASTOR MWALE
The Central Malawi Conference Family Ministries director in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pastor Ernest Mwale, has urged families to embrace God's love as the key to living happily together.
He said this during the closure of Family Life Emphasis Week at Dzenza Seventh-day Adventist Church on 7 September, 2024.
Pastor Mwale highlighted the importance of families remaining connected to Jesus Christ emphasizing that He is the cornerstone of salvation and the true source of happiness within families.
He stated that a marriage without Jesus Christ at its center is not a marriage at all.
Pastor Mwale also noted that the Family Ministries Department serves everyone regardless of marital status.
In his address Pastor Mwale encouraged local churches within the Central Malawi Conference to broaden their focus during Family Ministries Week ensuring that all types of families, not just traditional husband-and-wife families, are considered.
Elder Cornwell Chisale, the First Elder at Dzenza Seventh-day Adventist Church reflected on the week stating that Pastor Mwale's leadership had truly demonstrated marriage as a ministry essential for salvation.
Doreen Ng'ambi, a leader in the Family Life Ministries department, praised the lessons delivered during the week noting that they were comprehensive and inclusive addressing all ages and family structures. She observed that Christians had gained a deeper understanding of how to support single parents.
Representing the youth, Dumisa Chipoka expressed that they now feel mentally, socially and spiritually empowered to plan for marriage effectively.
