CHARGED TO BE EFFECTIVE SPIRITUAL MENTORS: A DEVINE APPOINTMENT

"The Lord has appointed the Youth to be his helping hand, with such an army of workers as our youths, rightly trained, might furnish how soon this message of crucified, risen and soon coming savior might be carried to the whole world", said SYL Chiletso Chapata, Malawi Union Conference AYM Chairperson, sharing quotes by Ellen G White in her Books Testimonies for the Church, Christian Service, Testimonies to the Ministers and Education as he urged the newly invested Senior Youth Leaders on 05th August, 2023 at Lakeview in Ntcheu where Ntcheu Zone Adventist Youth Ministries launched Senior Youth Leadership (SYL). He then charged them to be the mentors of the youths.

The Master Guide and Senior Youth Leadership investiture was presided over by Central Malawi Conference AYM Senior Youth Coordinator, SYL Rachael Chasweka along with Central Malawi Conference AYM Adventure Director SYL Elicy Chinseu Makina which saw one Master Guide and six Senior Youth Leaders being invested.


Soon after the Investitures, SYL Chasweka advised the congregation to go and preach the gospel to the world in her sermon titled "God is with us, let's go" . She read through Joshua 1:9,Mark 16:15,16, Matthew 28:19,20 and Matthew 5:17-26.


The event was very colorful as it attracted the presence of North Eastern Nigerian Conference AYM Director,Jacob Yohanna Alabai, SYL Bias Aaron Prosper from Cameroon Union Conference, SYL Ngonneyema Ibrahim from Central African Union Mission, Chad, SYLs from South Malawi Conference, Nkhotakota Zone Coordinator, Master Guide Samuel Kaiya Junior and Ntcheu Zone Adventist Youth Ministries fraternity.


Afternoon program was decorated with a Senior Youth Leadership launch cake which was later shared to the congregation. The files were presented to the candidates, gifts were given to them by their family members and friends for the good job well-done.They could not hold their patience but expressed their joy by presenting their gift to their mentor SYL Chisomo Chauluka who was not present but SYL Precious Chikumbi recieved it on his behalf.



Finally,Central Malawi Conference delegation presented a certificate of recognition to SYL Moses Kambirinya who is also the Zone Coordinator for Ntcheu Zone Adventist Youth Ministries for his contributions and support to Central Malawi Conference AYM.


In his speech,Lake View District Pastor, Thomas Kaira thanked Ntcheu Zone Adventist Youth Ministries Leadership for the well organized event and also sent a message of appreciation to Central Malawi Conference AYM Director for sending a delegation to preside over the ceremonies.
