AWR BROADCAST TO BAPTISM EVANGELISM CAMPAIGN YIELDS 1324 SOULS TO CHRIST

The Broadcast to Baptism Training and Evangelism Campaign which was conducted by Adventist World Radio (AWR) to train sixty Adventist Media participants from Southern Africa Indian Ocean Division ( SID) countries to preach at sixty centres in the Musi O Itunya Conference in Livingstone, Zambia has led to the winning of 1,324 souls for Christ.

Ten Malawians participated in the training and evangelism campaign which started on 19th and ended 27th July, 2024.

Speaking at Dwamba main church where a convocation ceremony took place after the baptism, the President of Musi O Itunya Conference,Pastor Maxwell Muvwuni expressed gratitude to AWR for organising and sponsoring the training and recruiting the sixty Bible workers. He also thanked the preachers for their timeless and selfless commitment to work of God in Livingstone.

"The message had comforted the people in times of sorrow and inspired themselves and shaped our community to be a beacon of hope," he said.

Adventist World Radio Regional Director for Africa, Emmanuel Ogwal said he was excited with the results that the campaign had yielded considering that most of the preachers were conducting public evangelistic campaigns for the first time since they were used to newswriting and broadcasting.

" They did not come on the strength of their eloquency or qualifications they all came on the promise of Matthew 25 verse 20,"

Pastor Eddie Canales, AWR Regional Director for the training urged the preachers and all Christians to be the disciple of Christ.

"We need more disciples of Christ and not members in the church. Everyone needs to preach the gospel. Nobody has ever died by spreading the gospel, but many have resurrected," he said.

Gift Kalulu, a Hope Channel Malawi engineer said that the training has boosted his confidence and he is going back to Malawi a highly- charged person.

" I will be ready to conduct evangelism campaign with confidence now. I never thought I could preach and win souls for Christ " Kalulu said.

The Musi O Itunya Conference was established in December, 2023 with a membership of seventy people.
