ADVENTIST YOUTH MINISTRY LEADERS CHALLENGED TO EMBRACE SERVANT LEADERSHIP
Lilongwe Adventist Youth Ministry leaders had a four day leadership seminar at Charles Grand Park in Lilongwe which was aimed at equipping them with different leadership skills.
Pastor Charles Thangalimodzi, who is the Malawi Adventist Media Director, challenged the delegates to exercise servant leadership as they work for the Lord in their respective churches.
Quoting the book of Matthew chapter 20 and verses 20 - 27, Pastor Thangalimodzi told the leaders that God chooses and prepares people to be leaders and should, therefore, be humble when appointed in any leadership position. He gave as an example, the story of Jesus who humbly left His glory in heaven and came down to die like a sinner just to serve mankind.
"You do not have to campaign for any leadership position because leaders are chosen by God and are prepared before hand," Thangalimodzi said.
President for the Central Malawi Conference Pastor John A.G.Phiri congratulated the delegates for acquiring skills that would complement the church's main agenda of evangelism. He, therefore, called upon all leaders to go and preach; saying if they do not, God would send stones to do so.
The seminar was one of the five zone workshops which were organized in the Central Malawi Conference to equip youth leaders with different leadership skills.
