58 SOULS GIVE THEIR LIVES TO CHRIST AT PHOMBEYA

Writer: John MpeluleJohn Mpelule

Fifty eight people received Christ as their saviour and got baptised on 29th October,2022 at the end of a two week evangelistic meeting that took place at Phombeya village in the area of Traditional Authority Makwangwala ,Bilira district of Seventh day Adventist Church.

Evangelist Aaron Chagoma was the main speaker for the evangelistic meeting while the district pastor for Bilira district,Pastor Crenzie Pindani conducted the baptism.

Speaking soon after the baptism, Pastor Pindani said he was excited with the fruits of the evangelistic campaign which started on 16th October,2022.

He congratulated the newly baptised members for making a great decision of their lives. He further advised them to stick to the truth that they had just acquired and share the knowledge with others.

The Pastor however expressed concern that the current one day Matapira church constructed by Maranatha Volunteers International was not big

enough to accommodate the growing number of members.

“The church was constructed to accommodate fifty people.Already more than fifty people congregate at this church. We expect to have an overflow of congregation with the increased membership”. Said Pastor Pindani.

He therefore appealed to well wishers to help with the extension of the church. He further appealed to church members to continue teaching and guiding the new members.

A blind old woman,Gogo Nalekani, formerly a Catholic member who received a house from Dorcas women of Bilira earlier this year accepted Christ and got baptised on this day.

“I was touched by the gesture of the Dorcas women who constructed a decent house for me.I felt loved. Now that I have fully learnt about God’s love,I decided to get baptised’’.Said Gogo Nalekani.

Mr.Alfred,a man who used to be a drunkard, and could come at the evangelistic meetings while drunk most of the evenings finally made a decision to follow Jesus. He also got baptised.

“I will no longer drink beer.I want Jesus to lead my life today and forevermore”.He declared.

The closing ceremony was spiced by music from seven groups which included The Disciples from Bilira.

The crusade was sponsored by The Ministry Behind Pain (MIBEP).
