Chipoka Camp Meeting:

AMO Resurrects After a 20 Year Slumber!

The camp meeting which started on Monday 24th July and ended on Sabbath 30th July 2016, had Pastor  CL Matekenya from Mchinji as Guest speaker leading the service with support from other speakers: Pastor Sikelo, Elder Makako and the host pastor Moses mpinganjira. The District complies of Ngodzi, Chipoka, Chikwilira, Chikadwe, Matowe, Kamwiyisa, Mnkuyu, Mntondo, Mtayamoyo, Lifidzi 1 and 2, Kambiri, Ndevu and Nthawira SDA churches.

Pastor Matekenya's title sermon was centered on Mathews 21 vs 1 - 12 and titled "kodi Ameneyu Ndani?". In his sermon, the pastor reminded the need for obidience on the part of Christians: "The Lord requires Men and Women who will do as the Lord instructed". The sermon also touched on stewardship: "People are busy asking questions like " how is our pastor, conference and elders doing with our tithe?" Why do we need so much money for this camp meeting?" Instead of just complying to what the Lord instructs, everybody has reasons to thank and praise God.

We have everything that requires a man to live in this land, be it money, shelter, food but we need something more than that "JESUS". Matthews 3 vs 22  - 23, "God will never allow his church to suffer because of one person, remember Herlod in the chapter above, he wanted to kill Jesus who is our Savior and he did not stay long ( he died)," preached Pastor Matekenya.

The meeting witnessed revival of the district AMO which had been inexistent for 20 years! 10 people will start bible class. About 350 attended the meeting. More than 100 Backsliders would want to return to Christ. Also in attendance were senior group Chiefs: Kamphinda, Zimchetera and Ndevu.
